FRACTECUS actually originated from a group of Silliman University High school students from diverse backgrounds and upbringings, who have been together since their childhood days. Upon graduating from high school and going into college, the group decided to formalize their unity by forming a fraternity. Thus, FRACTECUS was born. The chronicle date of FRACTECUS ' conception is June 22, 1992 . Though the group has been together for some time before that, it was decided that the date of June 22, 1992 should remain since it is the date when FRACTECUS was originally recognized.

FRACTECUS started out with the original 30 members of which all came from Silliman University High School Batch 1992, with the exception of a handful of non-batch 1992 members who were already a worthy part of the group.

It shares its constitution and by-laws, guidelines, principles, doctrines of disciplines and concept of Honor and Loyalty as foundations of its greatness.

It may seems misleading that the translation of " FRACTECUS " in Latin literally, means "to break", but it is through the breaking of the bonds of conventional friendship and unity and the separation from the external ties the bound the members the FRACTECUS was born.

The mission of Fractecus Sigma Kappa Sigma is to help its members in preparing to become leaders in campus and community through service; to inspire and support exemplary men and women dedicated to friendship and a lifelong commitment to Sigma Kappa Sigma; And to aids the individual, builds Fractecus Society and strengthens the host academic institution through lifelong devotion to intellectual excellence, high standards of moral conduct and responsible citizenship.
